If users have JavaScript disabled, the search simply does nothing. I can enter a query into the search form and hit enter, but nothing happens.

This can be caused by restrictive browser permissions, but also by privacy addins or ad-blockers. I think it's fine if the search only works with JavaScript, but it should at least show a warning that users should enable it.
