Keep article TOC text from Search results
complete
Sharon Chester
The majority of our articles are long enough to need a Table of Contents. But that means that the TOC text ("Update TOC..." plus all the headings) appears as the article excerpt in Search results. I've been told to use article subtitles instead, but that's
- another thing we would need to insert in each article
- another thing to remember to update if the body of an article changes.
Ideally, more control on what goes into excerpt is needed, but at the very least, non-article text such as this shouldn't be picked up in the excerpt.

Denis Omerovic: I see that this has been marked as Complete, but that TOC text is still appearing in my KB Search results. Is there a change that needs to occur somewhere within our KB settings or configuration for this to take effect?

Sharon Chester: A new articles will not be indexed with TOC but for exisiting ones you will need to re-save them in order to remove TOC from search results.

Denis Omerovic: This still isn't working for me. I've resaved and republished test articles with TOC but that same TOC text appears in our KB search results as the article excerpt. Is there something else on our end that needs to happen?
