Improve Template Management

I'm pulling my hair out with Templates. Great I can create an article and save it as a Template.
BUT ongoing using and managing them is a PITA.
Why can we not have a separate Templates icon in the Dashboard which when I click it, shows me all of my templates and allows me to manage them (add, delete, edit)?
At the moment I create an article and save it as a template. Then in the Dashboard, I click "+" | "Create New Article from Template".
Sometimes the Template is there. Sometimes it's not.
I go back to the article I used for the Template. Edit it. Save it as a template.
Click "+" | "Create New Article from Template" and I end up with 2 the same.
I also have no idea when I'm looking at an article that is saved as a Template. Can we not add some kind of visual indicator like "T" or something?
Please create a separate Templates area in the Dashboard (which I don't imagine would be too hard given you've got space on the Dashboard and the database must know which articles are Templates) to end this nightmare.
Off to resume my battle again..... :-(

Shoutout & Thanks to Cliff Hobbs for helping us by sharing his frustration with template management!
We built Article Templates a while back, and kept hearing your complains on editing, or deleting not being available, so we recently redesigned Article Templates entirely, and made it convenient for you to create/edit/delete your Article Templates! Check it out on the Helpjuice Dashboard today!

Emil Hajric Is there any possibility to manage the rights on a template.
As a super admin, I've created a template, but the Administrators or Draft Writers cannot edit it?
Emil Hajric
Guillaume SERTON: What do you think the permissions should look like?
Guillaume SERTON
Emil Hajric: I would be able to set permissions, so a group or a user or some users can create or modify or delete or just see and use templates
Emil Hajric
Guillaume SERTON: Right, developing this, we might aswell develop proper user permissions, where you can custom define a role and what it can do..
^^ this is what's slowing us down from implementing what you described. It's a little bit at a minimum, but we'd have to do full feature, if we started it - which at this point we don't intend on due to not enough demand.

Our team could use this as well. We heavily use templates to keep consistency in our product documentation. Whenever we modify a template, we need to copy the existing template, make the changes, save the new version as a template, and then delete the old version.
If the template management did have a way to apply template updates to all articles using the template, we'd also like for a safeguard to be in place in case an article is accidentally deleted the articles using the template are left unchanged.

Our team is very much in support of this request! We would love some form of version control for Templates and, in an ideal world, be able to update certain criteria on a template and have it reflected in the articles it was used to create.

Agree with you 100% Cliff Hobbs

Emil Hajric: I do appreciate not everyone uses them + you've maybe got higher priorities to deal with (like backups ;-)).
