Ability to publish after changing 'access level' or 'category'

When i have changed the access level of an article or changed/added a category where the article is displayed, I want to be able to republish directly. Now I need to change something in the text, because the 'publish' option does not become available.

If the article was already published and we just want to change the 'access level' or 'category' it seems silly that we currently have to resave it as a draft and then publish it again. Could it just automatically update/refresh once the access level or category changes are made?

When this happens to me I hit the "save as draft" and then the publish button lights up. (Just sharing :) )

I think it's actually still available; it just looks grayed out. Try clicking on the button.
