New draft versions are created without editing the published article

When we access a published article in the editor, it randomly generates a new draft version.

Actions we noticed triggers this:

Copying the article title/subtitle
Sometimes we don't do anything and it happens too

clicking at all in the body or switching to code editor creates a new draft version, its really quite inconvenient/annoying - it should only happen when making an actual modification to the article.

I've see this when clicking to see the HTML code editor. No changes were made to the draft, but a new draft version is created.
