Search option within articles
complete

Utilizing tabs and accordion menus has been very helpful for us, but having a search option within the article that would search the article as a whole would be really helpful. If you do "ctrl+f", it only searches what is currently showing - it won't show search results on another tab that isn't showing.

I see that this was marked as COMPLETE on July 12 2021, but it's still not working. The request is to be able to search an article and include what's in a closed accordion. That does not work. If I enter CTRL F and search for a word in a closed accordion section, no result is found.

The option to override browser search functionality and expand accordions and tabs is now live!!!
Here is the preview:
Here is how to enable it on your knowledge base:

Denis Omerovic: This is pretty great! The side effect of opening/closing all accordions and/or tabs using Ctrl F is actually a nice bonus and makes sense for the search to work. This is a nice functionality to have.
Sharon Chester
Denis Omerovic: It turns out that this function doesn't work with article inserts. Are there any plans to keep working on this feature?
Denis Omerovic
Sharon Chester: I'm not sure I understand. If the content is visible the search option should work.
Sharon Chester
Denis Omerovic: Agreed, that's how I expected it to work, too. For example, this (public) article is made of an article insert. https://docs.kibocommerce.com/157258/881335-campaigns
If you search for a common term within the article such as "boost" you'll get no results. I think this is because this entire article is actually an insert of another, and the search function isn't looking at the final published version, but what's visible in the editor (which is just a summary of the inserted article).
Denis Omerovic
Sharon Chester: This is not related to insert article feature. There was some issue with webkit browsers(Chrome, Safari and Edge) so the search didn't worked properly. Now is fixed and if you search for a "boost" you should see 13 results.

We are working on this and it should be live within next week.

The inability to search within the article (including accordions) is really hurting our users' satisfaction with Helpjuice.
Another idea could be to add a drop down for "current article" or "This article" in the search bar, that only searches for information within the current viewed article. (Similar to a ctrl f functionality)

Searching articles in accordion style

Would like to request the ability to have accordions automatically expand to the specific topic that was searched for, when selecting an article. For example, if I search for a topic and one of the articles in the search results contains accordions, it would be nice to have the accordion containing that topic automatically expand after clicking on the article link. When articles contain multiple accordions it can be very time consuming to find which one contains the information you are looking for if you have to expand each one.

We want to use accordion menus extensively but this limitation is well... very limiting and makes it more difficult for users to find the information they need.

make complete sense and would be very helpful.

Lots of votes for this one. Planned project? :)

Any idea when this can become a planned project?
