Search articles from browser address bar
Josh Bartolomucci
With Help Scout and other KB solutions, it's possible to search articles from the browser's address bar, using OpenSearch: https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Web/OpenSearch
Is this something that's already supported or that could be implemented? The goal is to make it easier for team members to search and access HJ articles within their ecosystem.

Interesting. We already have search implemented in our instance and it works fine. Do you not have a "search" option on your instance for people to find stuff?

Cliff Hobbs: I'm referring to the browser address bar, not search functionality inside of the Help Juice KB site. We actually got this working by adding the needed XML file and a tag link.

Josh Bartolomucci: great - would you mind sharing an example please in case there are others who'd like to do this?

Cliff Hobbs: Screenshot attached. You can do this pretty easily by adding a
link
tag to your template, and creating an XML file, then uploading it anywhere (like your HelpJuice uploads). You can view source at https://support.foxy.io/. Search for
opensearchdescription
to see the link tag. Then click through on the href to see the format of the XML. You can make your own XML file, upload it to HelpJuice, and add the link tag.I hope that helps. It's very nice to have, I think.
