Easy backup & restore option
complete
Henry Cheang
I would really like to see an easy backup option for all my articles. I currently maintain our knowledge base in two languages, and each one spans literally over 300 articles representing a total of close to 100,000 words (if not more) with tons of graphics. Currently, we're using the API to back everything up, but it'd be nice to have a one-button backup in the UI.

Ok Emil, I'll keep it simple for you:
This is an example of one of the files I get when I download the back up:
That data on the image, for me is useless, I don´t really know what to do with it.
Regards,
Emil Hajric
María del Carmen Ramírez Marín: Thx for the feedback. We'll try to make some changes, but we sort of completed this feature for now. This is why we urge customers to contribute and be part of the early access program, so we can tweak it to fit your needs

Good day all. Thanks for taking the time on implement this, but still, we are not able to download backups and restore all our content or KBs uploaded into the platform. The current backup option still gives APIs and queries in xls, but if I want to back up all my KBs, I still have to enter each one of them, press the print icon and export that into a PDf file. We currently have more than 800 KBs published and we are constatly updating them. Is there anything else we can try?
Kind Regards,
Emil Hajric
María del Carmen Ramírez Marín: You're the 2nd person to write to me saying you want it in a PDF.
We'll make it into a PDF!

Hi everyone!
Helpjuice now supports Automated Backups. IT'S LIVE ON YOUR ACCOUNT – YOU DON'T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING (Except let us know if you like/hate it).
Thanks to all for upvoting, and BIG thanks to the BETA users for providing feedback – they were key in us releasing it to everyone else.

Hey folks! We're almost done – just really fine-tuning this feature to make sure it's super-polished.
THE QUICKEST TWO TO REPLY TO THIS COMMENT WILL GET INSTANT ACESS TO THIS FEATURE TODAY.
The rest will have to wait until we release it.
Who wants in? Just reply with "YES"
Kevin Cheney
Emil Hajric: YES :)

Siavash Vatanijalal: Chris Haughey Kevin Cheney Backups & Restores have been enabled on your account.
It's automatically live, and backing up your data. You do not have to
do anything.
Two things:
1) Please take a look at this 2min video to understand how it works: https://www.loom.com/share/35029a96752e42f7830985b952ebca3c
2) We really want early access participants to get access to our best features, earlier than anyone, but also to provide feedback to make it even better.
Please, please provide feedback on this feature via email to EMIL@HELPJUICE.COM. We rely on your feedback to make Helpjuice better.

Emil Hajric: Thanks! This is great, I was feeling very exposed without automatic backup.
Siavash Vatanijalal
Emil Hajric: Thank you. Awesome Emil. Exactly what we needed. Please consider charging extra for longer retaining periods. I think many would pay a bit extra each month to have for example weekly backups stored for a month, and monthly backups stored for a year.

I have the same concern about data protection, is there any other way to download all our back up in an easy and safe way? Thank you.
Emil Hajric
María del Carmen Ramírez Marín: We are launching this, next week
María Fernanda Vázquez Guerrero
Emil Hajric: Can we easily download all the articles?

Hey folks
What if we had a weekly/daily/monthly backup service via email?
- You pick when you want the backup to be sent, and to which emails
- We send it via email, attaching a zip folder w/ all contents
In zip folder, categories are FOLDERS and articles are PDFs/DOC files
e.g.
--- IT Setup (folder)
-------- Login-details.pdf (article)
-------- Troubleshooting.pdf (article)

Emil Hajric: I don't think email is secure. Plus if the backup is too large it could classed as Junk/Spam. I also don't know if you have any send limits from you web host. I also don't want to fill up my Inbox with backups and then have the hassle of saving them off somewhere, dealing with them when I'm on holiday etc. (which I think being able to specify where the backup is stored is best).
Cliff Hobbs
Emil Hajric RE: Locations we should be able to specify both the format of the backup and the target (e.g. email, cloud location, etc.)
We should also have the ability to do different types of backups on different days and different times.
e.g. Mon - Fri I only want to backup new/updated articles and have them sent to my email.
On say, a Saturday I want a full backup of everything and for it to go to a cloud location.
Steele Ferguson
This would be a nice feature. I currently use the API to back everything up as well
Emil Hajric
María Fernanda Vázquez Guerrero: Hey Fernanda, I think what Steele is referring to is our API for Export. Details in the kb, here: http://help.helpjuice.com/general-questions/how-can-i-export-my-questions-and-categories
María Fernanda Vázquez Guerrero
Emil Hajric: Hi Emil, but is there an option to download all my articles (not only the title of my questions and categories)?
We already have a button to download them in pdf but one by one, not all together :(
Emil Hajric
María Fernanda Vázquez Guerrero: Not yet, but we'll be sure to implement this soon!
